COACHELLA VALLEY REPERTORY
November, 2010

Dear Friends of CV REP,

The Board of Trustees recently formed a new Events Committee dedicated to actively work on obtaining funds to allow CV REP to move forward in a productive and creative way. The committee is comprised of several Board members as well as other CV REP supporters in the community. We welcome our new committee member Meredith Hardy to the team and look forward to working with her on upcoming events. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please contract Gary Hall, Board President at GARY.D.HALL@WELLSFARGO.COM

Our bi-monthly TANGO Dances are gaining momentum. We started out with only a few dancers and have grown into a lovely group ready to have fun and support CV REP with their presence. Please contact us at 760-296-2966 for our TANGO schedule.

On November 17th, CV REP presented another stimulating Luminary Luncheon. This month’s guest artist was Peter Marshall, luminary of Stage, TV & Film. He was interviewed by Don Martin, local Actor, TV and Radio host. All in attendance enjoyed Mr. Marshall’s stories ranging from his wide and varied successful career to his personal family history. We appreciate his support of CV REP and were happy to hear that he will be performing in various upcoming events here in the desert.

Production meetings are underway for our spring production of Captain Louie by Stephen Schwartz which will be held at the Annenberg Theater in partnership with the Palm Springs Art Museum. It is our goal to bus in children throughout the Coachella Valley for a two week run of the show. We will keep you posted!!

I would like to extend a SPECIAL THANK YOU to our newest founding member, Linda R. Kellogg for her generous donation this month of $1,000 to CV REP. Her leadership in kicking off the holiday season with her support to the arts is greatly appreciated by me and our Board of Trustees. Please consider following her leadership by supporting our efforts in making our community a better place to live and grow.

Sincerely,
Ron Celona
Artistic Director

LUMINARY LUNCHEON

Please join us for our monthly LUMINARY LUNCHEON.
This month’s special Holiday Luminary Luncheon is being held on Wednesday, December 15th at the
Rancho Los Palmas Resort & Spa
with guest artist and legendary Broadway, Stage,
TV and Film actress,
Carol Channing
who will be interviewed by Bruce Fessier,
Special Projects Writer for the Desert Sun.

For reservations, please call Audrey Provan at 760-341-7442

What are the CV REP LUMINARIES?

The CV REP Luminaries are a new social/booster group. This group helps to light the way to CV REP’s future. With the support of our sponsor, the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, the monthly events are held at the BLU Ember. Each luncheon includes a Luminary of the Theatre who will share their life experience working as an actor.

A portion of the fee will pay for your meal, refreshments, entertainment and the remainder will go to CV REP. The fee is only $30.00! A bargain for this fine restaurant!

TANGO (Milonga) DANCE

As a way of supporting CV REP, every other Friday night there is a TANGO (Milonga) DANCE held at the Desert Dance Academy in Palm Springs. It is a great way to spend a Friday night out doing something quite different. Whether it is listening to the Argentine music, watching the dancers strut their stuff or having the nerve to get up and try it yourself, this is a great way to spend a few hours on a Friday night.
Please contact CV REP for scheduled dances.

FUNDRAISING PRODUCTION TREE GROWS!

Please consider this summer helping our tree grow more leaves so that it will be strong enough to produce a Main Stage Production in the 2010-2011season.

The funding that we raise this summer will determine the type of production possible. Will it be a thought provoking Play or a Musical? We have both on the table and depending on how many leaves we could grow we will be able to determine what is possible…please go to our website at www.cvrep.org and add a leaf to our tree! Your name will be added to its roots. Help make our tree grow!!

WISH LIST
There are numerous ways, large and small, that you could help support our growth. If we don’t ask, we don’t receive!

  1. Grant Writer- Although the Board Members are hard at work writing grants, they could use the support of other volunteers that have this skill under their belt.
