Dear Theatre Lover,

The California desert is not the only thing warming up this summer, Coachella Valley Repertory is HOT, HOT, HOT!!

CV REP is working hard on developing our educational programs for the new space, DESERT DANCE ACADEMY. We already have five teachers lined up for the fall and are in the process of interviewing others. We also are working to develop the CV REP ACTORS STUDIO for local professionals to work on their craft.

Our October 7th fundraiser, “DRAMA to DRAG: Provincetown History Meets Palm Springs’ Future” in partnership with the AIDS Assistance Program of Palm Springs is coming along GREAT!  The venue is the HOTEL ZOSO. Tickets will go on sale August 23rd and could be purchased through AAP at www.aidsassistance.org  So far we have our fabulous host/narrator for the evening, the exceptionally talented and charismatic Broadway actor/singer, Danny Gurwin. We are holding auditions on July 24th for local actors and the following week for Los Angeles actors.

Our monthly Luminary Luncheon is in full swing. If you want to experience a lovely lunch with a great group of people, don’t miss an opportunity to be a part of this fun and entertaining event. Our next lunch is planned for July 28th at noon.

FUNDRAISING TREE GROWS!

Please consider this summer helping our tree grow more leaves so that it will be strong enough to produce a Main Stage Production in the 2010-2011season.

The funding that we raise this summer will determine the type of production possible. Will it be a thought provoking Play or a Musical? We have both on the table and depending on how many leaves we could grow we will be able to determine what is possible…please go to our website at www.cvrep.org and add a leaf to our tree! Your name will be added to its roots. Help make our tree grow!!!

What are the CV REP LUMINARIES?

The CV REP Luminaries are a new social/booster group. This group helps to light the way to CV REP’s future. With the support of our sponsor, the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, the monthly events are held at the BLU Ember. Each luncheon includes a Luminary of the Theatre who will share their life experience working as an actor.

A portion of the fee will pay for your meal, refreshments, entertainment and the remainder will go to CV REP. The fee is only $25.00! A bargain for this fine restaurant!
