Dear Theatre Lover,

The CV REP Board of Trustees would like to extend warm wishes to you and yours at this Holiday Season.

As the year comes to a close, we here at CV REP are grateful for all your support throughout the year. As we plan our upcoming projects for 2010, we know we cannot do it without your continued support. There are several upcoming programs that we hope you will participate in throughout the coming year.

Sincerely,

LUMINARY LUNCHON at the BLU Ember on Wednesday, January 27th!

The first CV REP LUMINARY LUNCHEON is underway! As we shared in our November Newsletter, CV REP is forming a new monthly social group called the “LUMINARIES”. This group will help light the way to CV REP’s future. With the support of our sponsor, the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, the monthly events will be held at the BLU Ember. Each luncheon will include a Luminary of the Theatre who will share their life experience working as an actor.

A portion of the fee will pay for your meal, refreshments, entertainment and the remainder will go to CV REP. The fee is only $25.00! A bargain for this fine restaurant!

Steering this group will be Luminary’s Social Secretary, Audrey Provan with the support of Board Member, Merrily Byron.

This will be a fun way for people to meet, have fun, be enlightened and support CV REP.
The first one is scheduled for Wednesday, January 27, 2010. We will be sending out an invitation to all our followers in a few weeks.

McDonald’s Newsletter

There is a TERRIFIC story about CV REP in the December issue of the McDonald’s Newsletter available throughout the Coachella Valley. A copy is given to each person with their meal. Thanks to the Editor, Janet Newcomb for her interest in CV REP, word about our work is getting out to our community.

Support our local McDonalds by picking up a copy this month and have a French fry for me..I bet you can’t eat just one!

Wish List
There are numerous ways that the public can help support our growth. If we don’t ask, we don’t receive! So we decided to create a wish list each month that will include large and small ways that you can help us achieve our goals.

• We are still looking for a donated public space to operate our business out of. At present we have been doing business from a home based office. If we had a public space we could start to staff it with volunteers who are waiting in the wings.

Grant Writer, although the Board are hard at work writing grants, they could use the support of other volunteers that have this skill under their belt.

Committee Members, each Board member is steering a committee on different development opportunities. If you would be interested in serving on one of these committees, please contact Gary Hall at Gary.D.Hall@wellsfargo.com for more information.

Board Member Profile
Merrily Byron

Merrily Byron graduated from New York University with a BA and a Masters in speech and hearing, which included an internship at the NYU Dental School speech clinic.  She went on to teach elementary school children at a school for the deaf on Long Island.

After a professional hiatus to bring up two children, her diverse interests led to positions as a health club administrator, country club director, interior design office assistant and flight school management coordinator. She also worked for The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees in New York.

Merrily has participated in programs involving hospital patient relations, domestic violence, children's readers theater, children's after-school art programs, community theater and has served on the advisory board of The Desert Rose Theater Company.  She owes her love of theater to her mother, who took her to everything on and off Broadway beginning at age three. She has two daughters, who must have inherited the drama gene, as they are both respected executives in the television industry.  Her addictions are her four wonderful grandchildren (she's Nana Banana) and crossword puzzles.
